The liquid level is distinguished by the different brightness
of the reflex glass is the media or in the stream/empty space.
In fact where is liquid in contact with the glass, the incidental
light is refracted to inside of the gauge and absorbed. Due to the
above fact we get a black color indicating the level of liquid.
But with the steam space above the liquid media appears very
bright indicating the demarcation between liquid and empty space.
